This is a great article I read from Nutritional Neuroscience Journal, the article is about the levels of the breast milk components can be change every day, depending of the baby needs, for example, how this milk could help newborn babies to sleep. For moms who feeding their baby breast milk directly, this article is not really useful, but for moms who working and need to expressing their breast milk and save it in refrigerator and feed it to their baby the day after.
Although the research only studying on the component of breast milk that contributed to baby's sleep regulation like nucleotides, I think this research can open our mind that maybe other nutrition component also change based on the baby needs.
"The milk, collected from 30 women living in Extremadura, was expressed over a 24-hour period, with six to eight daily samples. The highest nucleotide concentrations were found in the nighttime samples (8pm to 8am).
"This made us realise that milk induces sleep in babies", Cristina L. Sánchez, lead author of the article and a researcher at the Chrononutrition Laboratory at the University of Extremadura, tells SINC."
Since the study only reporting about the different level of the breast milk component at 24 hours regarding to help baby to sleep, I think I have the idea how to use expressed breast milk for working moms:
Mother can give the expressed breast milk exactly at the same time at the other day. This is mean if moms expressing the breast milk at 9.00 PM this day, next day mom must give it to the baby at the same time 9.00 PM too.
I know this method has no proof; this is just the idea poping up in my mind when reading the article...
